Introduction
Laura Elizabeth Morales is the Senior Vice Chairman of the Young Conservatives of Texas. She is the co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Young Conservatives of Texas chapter at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Under her leadership her chapter was named the 2007 Chapter of the Year.
While at UTSA, Laura served in the Student Government Association as Parliamentarian, College Republicans as the Director of Public Relations, Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and was a regular columnist, news anchor and Chief Photographer for The Independent, UTSA’s online news source.
Laura has been featured on CNN’s American Morning, Marie Claire Magazine, ABC World News with Charles Gibson, The Politico, C-SPAN, the Joe Pags Show and was a speaker at the February 2008 CPAC and 2008 Texas Americans for Prosperity Defending the American Dream Summit.
In 2008, she was inducted into the “Townhall of Fame” in Townhall.com’s inaugural issue of Townhall Magazine.
A former Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute Intern and champion high school debater, she was awarded the Coby Pieper Award for Conservative Dedication by the Young Conservatives of Texas in 2008, YCT’s highest honor.
Her top issues include fiscal conservatism, immigration, feminism, youth involvement in politics and gun rights. Morales is available for speaking engagements and media interviews upon request.

Real quick question: When your mother crossed the border, was she legal?
If so, please tell me how she became a legal immigrant. What kind of visa did she apply for? How long was her waiting time? How often did she have to get it renewed? How long did it take for her to become a citizen?

Hey Laura. I just finished reading the transcript from CNN concerning your comments on Ron Paul. You hit a home run in my opinion. Excellent job. Thousands of Ron Paul supporters on the web are talking about you. I can’t find a recording of the video though. You should post it on this website, or one of your other websites when you get the chance.
Yeah you did a good job on CNN, but it would have been even better if you slammed the democrat girl, when she tried to say all Republicans wanted to pardon Libby(obviously Ron Paul opposed that)
I am a traditional conservative, just became one I guess you can say. When I heard the message by Ron Paul I started to get more political.
I live in Schertz, Texas, only a few minutes from UTSA! You sound like the perfect person to talk to if I wanted to get involved in local groups! How can I get involved in my Republican party!

That Democrat girl didn’t have any knowledge about the Democratic, let alone Republican, candidates and stated such. Doesn’t she realize the politicians are two wings on the same birds? Dr. Ron Paul is the only statesman among them! She sure was a good example of the ignorance and apathy that is destroying this country.

I agree that poor fiscal decisions and big government can be bad. HOWEVER. It is really really bad that this country makes money off of war and off of denying people healthcare. If you disagree with me then, you clearly enjoy making money off the military industrial complex or allowing people to die.

Saw you on CNN, you are a very composed young lady, bravo. Best of luck to you on your education and future endeavors. However, please try to expand your mind to stop seeing the world in an “us against them” kind of way. Conservative vs. liberal point of view only divides us, and that is just what the powers that be want.
Electing for Ron Paul is SO important in order to restore, defend, and uphold the Constitution. The current administration has done just the opposite (in fact, Alberto Gonzalez called it “outdated”:
President Bush has signed executive orders giving him sole authority to impose martial law, and suspend habeas corpus. This gives him dictatorial power over the people, without any checks and balances.
**The government can jail you for life without charges, without a trial, and without a lawyer.
Executive Order #10999
Allows the government to take over all modes of transportation.
Executive order #11000
Allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
Executive Order # 11921
Provides that the President can declare a state of emergency that is not defined, and Congress cannot review the action for six months.
Senate bill #1873
Allows the government to vaccinate you with untested vaccines against your will.
Congressman Sensenbrenner’s bill (HR 1528) requires you to spy on your neighbors, including wearing a wire. Refusal would be punishable by a mandatory prison sentence of at least two years.
The government claims the power to seize all financial instruments: currency, gold, silver, and everything else if they deem an emergency exists. –Treasury Department letter, August 12, 2005
The PATRIOT Act permits:
- Secret FBI and police searches of your home and office
- Secret government wiretaps on your phone, computer, and/or internet activity
- Secret investigations of your bank records, credit cards, and other financial records
- Secret investigations of your library and book activities
- Secret examination of your medical, travel, and business records
- The freezing of funds and assets without prior notice or appeal
- The creation of secret “watch lists” that ban those named from air and other travel
This is not the United States our founding fathers worked so hard for!
Do you see where this is going? R.I.P. Bill of Rights and Constitution, unless Ron Paul can lead the way to their ressurections.

I didn’t actually see your CNN appearance, but I have heard of it from other Conservatives in the San Antonio Area. And, even though I don’t agree with you on the details of every issue, I still believe that you are doing good work.
I also attended UTSA and am an Alumni. I was very upset with the secretive raising of the STATUE and planned to cancel my Alumni membership. However, being that I am a retired US Army Officer and a Vietnam Veteran, I am not in the habit of “running from the enemy.” Therefore, I will continue to make myself usefull to conservative efforts at both the University (when called upon) and the local Party.
And, you are not a Traitor to your own people. We were all raised Conservative. But, over time, I witnessed many of my neighbors and relatives become Intoxicated with Liberalism which, for the most part, was served up by the local Democratic Party Leaders and various self-appointed Special Interest Groups. Question: Why are they called “Special Interest Groups”? They should be called “Self Interest Groups”!
Liberalism is easy. It doesn’t require explanations. Liberalism simply requires that you “NOT LISTEN” to anyone else. A fellow co-worker, who “GOT OUT” of the Soviet Union (Ukraine) during the Carter Administration, says that that was the Key to Socialist Power. They censor opposing views. Oh Yes, that means no talk radio, no non-biased Media and no Newspapers that report Real News. Even religion (especially Judo-Christian) is not allowed. And, where Tolerated, was closely monitored.

Great job on the CNN interview Aug 24, 2007 (I think that’s right). You stayed very calm considering how much disrespect CNN had for a Ron Paul response! You must have been completely shocked that the media would try to cut you off and try to make you feel stupid. I can’t believe you held yourself together. I think everyone who sees the online clip of that broadcast will figure out what’s going on with the media!
That woman on CNN certainly knew you didn’t say the “right” answer and had to cut you off. She didn’t even know what to say when she cut you off. We all know you said the best answer and you had a great explanation of why. It’s easy to cram Ron Paul policy into a short interview (especially when you’re getting cut off). Good job.
The democrat party student definitely could have been an audio recording. “We’re so educated and ready to go.”
Hmmm. When we see the real news on C-SPAN, congress even states that the media isn’t telling the truth. The democrats are using George Bush as a scape goat. He is getting all the blame and the democratic congress admits to pushing it further.
The polls have been rigged to not include Ron Paul. Ron Paul doesn’t get the media attention that he deserves. We’re all breaking through by supporting him and what he stands for.
Outstanding job throughout the whole CNN interview. Many Americans are seeing what’s going on. We’re seeing the truth! We’re seeing that Ron Paul needs to be heard. The media is doing the same thing that it did to you to many others so don’t be discouraged. We need to spread the word and keep faith in our civil rights, liberties, and constitution.
