Texas Early Voting Begins October 20th!

October 16, 2008

For the record, some nonsensical “defenders of conservatism” believe that Senator John Cornyn losing this election would somehow secure them a false sense of ~hope and change~ in the movement courtesy of amnesty lover Rick Noriega.

From Grant:

You should take all your John Cornyn ads, graphics, and endorsements down after he *broke* at the most critical moment and voted to raid the taxpayer accounts and hand billions of dollars to the same crooks who caused our financial crisis in the first place. After calling John’s office on a regular basis, his stuff still justifies John’s vote for socialism as “anything was better than nothing”. John Cornyn, in a single vote, displayed his weak knees and yellow belly, and Texas deserves more than just another half-ass and mediocre politician. We already have plenty of those. So let’s get John Cornyn out of office before he betrays his conservative values yet again.

I didn’t think I’d have to REPOST this for people who can’t read the archives of this blog, but just in case you had any confusion about who to vote for to represent Texas this November, allow me to enlighten you.

P.S. Rick Noriega was IN FAVOR OF THE BAILOUT.  AND IS IN FAVOR OF IN STATE TUITION FOR ILLEGALS.  AND ASSOCIATES HIM WITH HILLARY CLINTON STYLE GOVERNING.  If that’s any clue to you.

While I am not a bailout supporter and I disagree with the ridiculous pork tacked onto the bill and I think the bailout is pretty ludicrous all on its own I find it absolutely asinine to completely drop the support of a candidate who is SIGNIFICANTLY AND WHOLLY more conservative and generally better than his biggest opponent.

In case, spambot, you’ve forgotten:

1. Rick Noriega supports in state tuition for illegal immigrants

2. Rick Noriega supports the bailout

3. Rick Noriega’s endorsements include some of the most liberal of the bunch (all elected officials who support entitlements, big government and big spending of your money and mine to pay for it all), endorsements like Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Congressman Ruben Hinjosa, Senator John Kerry.

4. On top of that Rick Noriega’s endorsements also include the nutroots wackies at the Daily Kos.  Honestly, this alone is enough to dissuade me from Rick Noriega.

5. Noriega is running for a statewide office to represent ALL Texans in Washington, DC and yet, when he was given the stage to show how he could represent Texans in a positive and productive way at the DNC Noriega apologized for his Texan roots, to the cheers of the nutroots.

Yeah, I disagree with Senator Cornyn’s position on the bailout but I DO AGREE with these things:

1. Senator John Cornyn has actively fought for better care of our veterans

2. Senator John Cornyn believes we need to increase the number of border patrol (as we have in the past 4 years and you’ll notice the number of illegal immigrants is dropping) and secure our borders

3. Senator John Cornyn is fighting for alternative energy not only to end our dependance on foreign oil but also to make it cheaper for us at the pump.

4. His recent endorsement by a Bipartisan Group of 40 Public Officials on the Border makes it VERY clear that not only is he in touch with Texans, he will represent my hometown of McAllen and the rest of us in a positive manner.  I don’t expect he’ll ever apologize about his constituents or his Texan roots anytime soon.

So in conclusion, I STILL support Senator John Cornyn for re-election and you should too.

So Grant, no, I will not take down my ad for Senator Cornyn.  And I WILL be voting for Senator Cornyn.
