Don’t Forget – Radio Tonight!

August 27, 2008

My voice is returning to normal, yay!!  And of course just in time for co-hosting the Rio Grande Valley Show tonight from 10pm to 11pm where I will be joined by my fabulous co-host Contempo Magazine’s own Tony Magaña, Hidalgo County Republican Party’s Hollis Rutledge and my dear friend, fellow Frontera blogger Ken Emmanuelson.

This week’s topic is something that hits very close to home and something all those on the McCain campaign should pay careful attention to.

Why Hispanics Should be Conservative

No pandering here.

Handmaidens for Big Oil?

August 27, 2008

Wow Nancy, way to act like a lady and do your job as an elected official and get a conversation going about off shore drilling…you know, the thing the polls show the majority of Americans support.

From the Politico:

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of “Drill here! Drill now!”

Pelosi paused and asked the group, “Right here?”

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: “Can we drill your brains?”

She went on to refer to the protesters, who continued to chant sporadically, as “handmaidens of Big Oil.” Arguing that increased offshore drilling would reduce gas prices by only a couple of pennies a decade from now, she referred to the demonstrators as the “2-cents-in-10-years-crowd.”
