Obama, the Borg and his Senate Seat

August 26, 2008

COINCIDENCE?

In case you didn’t understand the Borg reference either (and for shame if you didn’t).

Ok, it’s just for the lolz.

H/T to Jawa.

On the Radio Tomorrow Night, Too

August 26, 2008

Uh, it’s a good thing I didn’t come down with a bad case of laryngitis this week…OH WAIT.

Nevertheless, conservatism doesn’t rest.

Check me out co-hosting the Rio Grande Valley Show tomorrow night from 10pm to 11pm where I will be joined by my fabulous co-host Contempo Magazine‘s own Tony Magaña, Hidalgo County Republican Party’s Hollis Rutledge and my dear friend, fellow Frontera blogger Ken Emmanuelson.

This week’s topic is something that hits very close to home and something all those on the McCain campaign should pay careful attention to.

Why Hispanics Should be Conservative

No pandering here.

Reminder: Radio Appearance TODAY

August 26, 2008

I will be on the Stephen Dinkel Program today at 5pm (Texas time) to discuss a very important topic facing college students (and society, really) right now.

Concealed Carry on Campus

We’ll also be discussing the recent news in Texas where teachers were given permission to have concealed weapons and the Texas legislator who is proposing the bill to allow CHL holders to carry on campus.

Tune in, call in, log in but definitely check out this program.  It should be fun.

Leftists Gone Mad!

August 26, 2008

Oh don’t I know how you feel, Michelle.  Stay safe in Denver.  Those truthers are crazy!

Thanks Jawa for some more deets on Alex Jones:

Alex Jones is not just any 9-11 Twoofer. He’s the ostensive leader of a loose-knit cult of conspiracy whackaloons that do things like holding 9-11 Twoof rallies at Ground Zero, or forming regular “confrontations” with those in the media and other visible public figures (politicians, people who debunk conspiracy theories, etc.). It is somewhat inaccurate to characterize him as a leftwinger. He’s an equal opportunity nutburger and has as much in common with Pat Buchannan and Ron Paul as he does with O!bama – he promulgates 9-11 conspiracy theories, anti-immigrant sentiments (he believes there is a North American Union being formed), is anti-war, is anti-”Zionism,” is anti-corporate culture, etc. Covers all bases, so he’s difficult to pigeonhole politically (although he supported Ron Paul).

Has anyone seen my tin foil hat?

The protest was an abysmal failure — with a crowd of about 20 profit-bashing protesters far out-numbered by press, bloggers, police, horses, and looky-loos. I was able to work unimpeded covering the pathetic showing…until the Truthers showed up for their YouTube moment.

Desperate to salvage the fizzled demonstration, 9/11 nutball Alex Jones started barking at me and attempting to make a scene and incite a riot. I should have brought my spit shield. Ick.

These people have no shame!  And spitting on her?  They’re disgusting.  So much for “free speech”.  The eeriest thing in the video is the whole “love, peace, justice” shamble they claim to stand for.

ANOTHER Radio Appearance this week

August 26, 2008

Catch me co-hosting the Rio Grande Valley Show with Contempo Magazine’s Tony Magaña on August 27th from 10pm until 11pm.

Tune in here.

The Pew Hispanic Center reports a trend of Latinos going Republican has changed with over 60% now voting Democratic. But are core Hispanic values really more conservative than liberal. To discuss this topic our scheduled guests include Hollis Rutledge, Chairman of the Hidalgo County Republican Party and Ken Emmanuelson, Dallas attorney.

A topic made for me.

Please tune in and call in to pose some questions to our talented guests and to Tony and myself.

Don’t forget to read the blog.

Elizabeth Ames Jones to Run for Senate

August 26, 2008

My dear friend Joe Solis reported some news on Elizabeth Ames Jones on the Walker Report:

South Texas Republicans can confirm today that Texas Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones will be running for United States Senate in 2010.

The Republican hopes to replace U. S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison who is set to run for Governor of Texas in 2010. This is an exclusive from South Texas Republicans.

McCain on Leno

August 26, 2008

Via the Politico:

“I spent 5½ years in a prison cell; I didn’t have a house,” McCain said. “I didn’t have a table. I didn’t have a chair. … You know, I’m very proud of Cindy’s father. … He made the American dream.”

Well said McCain.
