Obama Exxon ‘08
August 8, 2008Obama, oh so silly. Obama Exxon ‘08 anyone? Don’t their PR people check this stuff out before running it??
McCain has received three times more money from the oil industry in general — $1.3 million for McCain compared to approximately $394,000 for Obama. But that said, Obama has received more campaign cash than McCain has from the employees of some of the biggest oil companies — Exxon, Chevron and BP.
This might seem to complicate Obama’s continual use of Exxon-Mobil on the stump.
But based on data downloaded electronically from the Federal Election Commission on July 29, 2008, reports CRP: “Through June, Exxon employees have given Obama $42,100 to McCain’s $35,166. Chevron favors Obama $35,157 to $28,500, and Obama edges out McCain with BP $16,046 vs. $11,500.”

The keyword there is EMPLOYEES. They don’t all have to be drones that serve their company. They might just want to have Obama in the White House because his policies resonate with them and they’d want to vote for him regardless of what company they worked for. It’s not like Exxon execs are handing their employees $100 checks and are saying, “Hey, go donate this to the Obama campaign.”
Sheesh.
Okay, let’s add up your numbers…
McCain – 1,300,000 + 35,166 + 28,500 + 11,500 = 1,375,166
Obama – 394,000 + 42,100 + 35,157 + 16,046 = 487303
McCain – Obama = McCain+
1,375,166 – 487,303 = 887,863
McCain has taken $887,863 more than Obama from big oil. You’re twisting this for the headline. Shameful journalistic technique, but I guess I couldn’t expect anything less from a conservative.
[...] and had no actual evidence to support their claims. They wanted a headline, kind of like this site here. That site has a headline that makes it sound like Obama has taken more money than McCain from [...]
Didn’t you get the memo? Barack Hussein Obama, AKA The Second Coming, AKA Dyn-O-Bama, walks on water. He has more official apologists than he may ever need.
Thank you PCC for proving that conservatives can’t stick to the issues, they instantly go to this silly celebrity, and “let’s call him by his middle name” crap. Argue the issues, otherwise you just look stupid.
J.P., you’re the man. Everyone else? Failed.
What’s interesting is that the people who shame Obama, calling him by his middle name and the Second Coming, who sarcastically say that he can turn water into wine or walk on water, probably believe that Jesus Christ did too.
Conservatives just love talking about their crusades and terrorist witch hunts because they can’t tell anyone about the real issues. They’ll scapegoat the liberals for spreading propaganda and not allowing their terrible policies to become law, all the while spreading propaganda themselves. It is because of them that off-shore drilling is in such high demand, because they have lied that it will reduce the price of oil in the long term, and that looks good to Americans who can’t discern what is truth and what is a lie and can’t afford $4 gas. They crush any attempt at cleaner, alternative energy just because of their pals in big oil.
Did we kill this blog? There hasn’t been a post in several days. Haha
Seems like we’ve done our job.
