BROOMFIELD – It started with a simple question and ended with at least one student chanting “white power” in a classroom.
We know why immigration discussions always lead to race relations and debates with La Raza. Both sides of the debate, whether you’re an open borders amnesty loving Liberal or a conservative who wants a strong national defense balancing with the need for immigration, the issues of race and ethnicity need to leave the discussion.
No bill will ever be passed and no debate will ever be won with groups like La Raza and students like this making this a debate over race.
As a Spanish student at UTSA told me, “I never know what box to check for race. I always mark other and add ‘human’ because we’re all humans.”
She’s right.
